In Alberta, the agriculture sector plays a significant role in the regional economy, and credit unions know this better than most. Many Alberta credit unions not only serve agriculture focused and rural communities, but also offer products and services specifically tailored to the unique needs of ag-based small businesses.
However, recent research indicates there is work to be done to better support women working in ag, who can face barriers and insufficient access to capital and financing.
So that’s why in 2023, Credit Unions of Alberta launched the Women in Ag Grant. And the grant is back for 2024!
The Women in Ag Grant provides an opportunity for Alberta-based women who are currently working or planning to work in the agriculture industry to apply for funding to put towards their ag business’ financial future.
Two grants of $10,000 will be awarded to two individuals or businesses; apply between June 11th and 28th or before 150 applications are recieved for a chance to grow your ag dreams!
