Servus Credit Union is matching donations up to $20,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Red Deer and District’s “Small Act BIG Impact” campaign. The BBBS mentorship program matches a child or youth with an adult or teen mentor to establish a positive relationship in their life. They currently have a waitlist of 60 youth who are looking for a mentor.
“We’re extremely proud of our long-standing relationship with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Red Deer & Area and it only makes sense for us to step up and help them more at a time like this,” said Rob Stryker, VP Corporate Services, Servus in an rdnewsNOW article. “We know that children have experienced a lot of challenges throughout the pandemic, and mentorship through this program is perhaps even more important than ever.”
Donations may be made by visiting YouthHQ.ca or give.charityvillage.com/bbbsreddeer. Donations can also be made by mail or dropped off directly at Youth HQ (4633 49 Street, Red Deer, AB T4N1T4). Their fundraising goal is $50,000 and the initiative is open until April 30, 2021.
