Alberta credit unions have always put members first, and 2019 was no different. Here are some achievements from the year!
- 1st Choice Credit Union won the Cardston and District Chamber of Commerce Best in Customer Service award in the finance category.
- ABCU Credit Union continued to support their community with donations to summer reading programs, Mothers Against Drunk Driving and more.
- Bow Valley Credit Union hosted community events and fundraisers including the “Crack the Vault” contest, Smile Cookie Day and financial literacy lessons for local Sparks.

- Calgary Police Credit Union awarded 22 scholarships to students ranging from ECS to post secondary.
- Christian Credit Union increased membership numbers with a community builder membership drive and youth banking presentations.
- Connect First Credit Union was recognized as a 2019 winner of Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures in the mid-market category.
- Encompass Credit Union donated $100,000 to the Wainwright Health Foundation to fund a CT scanner.
- Khalsa Credit Union achieved growth in all areas in 2019.
- Lakeland Credit Union won the Canadian Credit Union Association’s Achievement in Marketing Excellence Award for their financial literacy programs.
- Pincher Creek Credit Union gave 5% of their profits back to support community organizations including the food bank, Pincher Creek Women’s Shelter and more.
- Rocky Credit Union shared a 2.75% dividend on common shares and refunded 10% profit shares on interest paid and earned.

- Servus Credit Union gave $1 million to one of their members in The Big Share contest.
- SPARK The Energy Credit Union opened a new Fort Saskatchewan branch in July.
- TransCanada Credit Union shared a 4% dividend on common shares.
- Vermilion Credit Union‘s charity golf tournament raised $9,000 for local community groups.
